We celebrate another great year of fundraising for Seashell Trust!

Shepherds Friendly enjoys another successful year with Seashell Trust

On Friday 16th December, we visited our chosen charity Seashell Trust to present them with a cheque for £1,200, just in time for Christmas!

Throughout 2016, we have carried out a range of fundraising activities, from regular volunteering at the Seashell Trust centre to monthly staff and board member donations, and this latest figure takes the total we have raised for the charity to over £3,500! Previous years’ activities include staff taking part in the Manchester 5K Colour Run, and a member of staff dressing up as the Easter bunny delivering presents to students at the trust!

As well as the money that was raised, we also donated a set of sensory toys as an added Christmas gift to the young people at the centre, which will be of great use to the students there going into 2017.

Libbi Martin, Marketing Manager at Shepherds Friendly, said:

“We are very proud of the money we have raised for Seashell Trust this year. It’s great to know that the money we have raised will go directly towards improving the lives of the children at the centre, and our charity work is something that everyone at Shepherds Friendly is proud of.”

Our previous donations to Seashell Trust have helped contribute towards the creation of a wildlife garden and bird watching area, helping students to learn more about the natural world around them, as well as helping to fund equipment for the new playground at the centre.

Seashell Trust is a charity based nearby to us in Cheadle, and offers education and care to children and young adults with complex learning difficulties all across the UK. Wendy Bray, Fundraising Manager at Seashell Trust, commented:

“We are so grateful that Shepherds Friendly continues to support our children and young people! They have done so much for us over the last few years from volunteering to fundraising. This amazing donation of £1,200 will really help to ensure that our children and young people have the best opportunities in life”.
